Chairman of the Board & Chief Technical Officer
Derek Wise, a decorated Marine, is the Chairman of The Board for GNi. Mr. Wise's current position is the culmination of over ten years of technical networking, communications and security experience.
In April 2002, Mr. Wise started Global Netoptex (GNi). Mr. Wise saw the need for fast, reliable and, above all, affordable managed IT and networking services in the telecommunications market. "Too many companies take their customers for granted. At GNi my top guidance to our employees is to treat each customer with the respect and the attention they deserve."
Prior to starting GNi, Mr. Wise was responsible for field engineering teams in Europe and Asia for Enron Broadband Services. He has extensive experience in managing new network installations including strategy, design, provisioning, installation and deployment. Wise was responsible for management of vendors, customers and compliance with a wide variety of International communications standards.
His experience at Enron molded his philosophy of customer and employee service and openness. In his time with the U.S. Marine Corps, Wise was a team leader for multiple secure networking implementations throughout the Pacific region, and served as the Information Systems Management Chief, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center.
