POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Responsibilities:
- This position may require shift work and local travel.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving Tier 1 and 2 Local Area Network problems.

Job Description
Job Purpose
This position will be involved in the day to day management of current storage technology (SAN) in place for the customers of GNi. Planning for and facilitating the expansion of these services will also be a major role. This position will perform customer support in times of need at a level above Tier 1 support on SAN issues. There will be opportunities to propose new solutions for the company as the needs arise. Writing documentation will be included in this job for any new processes and procedures encountered and for all new services that this position is responsible for building. The person who fills this position must be a team player, motivated, able to work independently, and be able to multi-task and prioritize projects.
Tasks
- Diagnose hardware and software problems.
- Day-to-day support of storage infrastructure.
- Storage and SAN monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Physical maintenance of SAN hardware in the data centers.
- 24x7 on call support.
- Analysis and reporting on performance issues and usage trends.
- Management of volumes, creating new volumes, insuring sufficient disk space and permissions.
- Work with the IT-Engineering team members in the installation and support of new clients.
- Communicate with customers who need troubleshooting assistance.
- Other projects for clients and internal corporate infrastructure as needed.

Storage Theory
- Working knowledge of zoning (hard and soft), LUN mapping, SAN performance optimization and growth planning.
Linux
- Experience with Linux systems as SAN clients.
Windows
- Experience with Windows systems (Windows 2000, Windows 2003) as SAN clients.
Networking
- Knowledge of key networking concepts, IP addressing, routing, firewalls.
